Who was "Boots" Adams?

Kenneth S. "Boots" Adams was a very successful Jayhawk, although he never graduated from KU because he left his junior year to work for the Phillips company to earn enough for the rest of his tuition, but he never returned to KU. He later became the president of Phillips Petroleum. Boots donated $2 million to construct the Adams Alumni Center at 13th and Oread Ave, and his nickname came from wearing black and red boots to bed.
