When was the EECS (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) Department founded at KU?

The EECS Department was formed in 1993 when the Computer Science Department was moved from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to the School of Engineering. At that time, it was merged with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
