What is Kansas Day?

Kansas Day is a celebration of Kansas' statehood. Kansas became the 34th state in the Union on January 29th, 1861. Four years later, it became the coolest state in the Union by creating good old KU. Here is a nice article about Kansas' b-day. It is on the Kansas State Historical Society's website, which is KU Info's favorite place to go for KS Info.
